The Chief of Ashaley Botwe, Nii Afutu Kotey Gbomosane II, has advised all land owners in Ashaley Botwe, and Adenta who have not yet regularised their documents with him to do so to protect them from fraudsters.
He said all lands between Ashaley Botwe and Adenta are now in his custody and could be registered only with him and at his palace.
He, therefore, warned the general public not to pay money or engage in any business transaction with anybody from anything called Ashaley Botwey Family land Secretariat since that secretariat does not legally exist.
Nii Afutu Kotey Gbomosane II, in an interview said the royal family and the elders do not know and have not sanctioned the creation and operation of any family secretariat for the family.
“We have information that a secretariat has been created at the residence of one M.G.K Ahlija near the Adenta lakeside Marina Park with the involvement of some accomplices like Samuel Armah Laryea , Sylvanus Kotei , Henry Ashie , Jonas Adjei and others. I am told they are going round and extorting money from innocent people as land owners. They also use mobile numbers as 0244280384, 0549577056, 0543024228 and 0264249590 to contact people to pay money to them. I want to place on record that the secretariat is fake and engages in fraudulent acts of harassing and extorting money from innocent and poor people. Aside that they issue them with fake documents to cover their land. I am therefore calling on the general public to desist from doing business with them,” the chief dissociated himself.
He continued “If they want any clarification in relation to lands in custody of Ashaley Botchwey, they should visit the Ashaley Botchwey Royal Family Palace at Botwey old town to meet the original and genuine royal family members. We are always there to assist and protect them from these fraudulent people who pose as land owners.”
