The Chief for Ashaley Botwe, Nii Afutu Kotey Gbomosane II, has been inducted into the paramountcy of Asrene Nikoi Olai Stool by Nii Oka Olai III, with a call on all, parties to promote peace and unity in the various Ga communities.
The Induction ceremony was also held for three other Ga Chiefs, namely, Nii Kotei Brempong, Otchere Komfo, Nii Kotei Afutu Brempong, Pantang Mantse and Nii Oko Kotei, Kumia Boye Mantse.
The event which took place on Tuesday 12 December 2021 at the Nikoi Olai Asere stool House in Greater Accra brought dignitaries and other high level chiefs in the Ga kingdom together to witness and grace it.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief of Ashaley Botwey, Nii Afutu Kotey Gbomosane II, expressed gratitude to the elders of Asrene Jorshi for the induction.
‘Today’s tradition performed by Nii Okai Olai III, the Asere king made me happy because it depicts togetherness and development for the king’s people from Ga, La, Osu, Teshie, Tema, Togo, and Benin. This exhibits togetherness and it will help the youth to desist from unlawfully claiming the chieftaincy title and it is the duty of the various family houses to ensure that there is peace. I render a special thanks to the Almighty God and Nii Amasa, king of Asrene for bringing us together under the umbrella of the Asrene Paramount stool’.
Since my enstoolment as the Chief of Ashaley Botwe, I encountered a lot of challenges and hurdles but I have been able to resolve most them.
Besides that and by the grace of God, the president of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo made me a government appointee for the District Assembly and I have since been collaborating with the District assembly to promote human , economic and environmental growth and development in the identified communities and towns within my jurisdiction.
We have indicated places we can build hospitals and issues that need much attention. I’m very glad the Ashaley Botwe hospital was approved in the 2022 budget and this shows what I have done as the chief of the town. Before the year ends, this is our preparation for 2022.
I express gratitude to the People of Ashaley Botwe for believing in my and I wish them Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. They should believe in me as I work with the state to bring more projects and development to the communities.
In a statement, Nii Okai Lai Matse III, chief of the Asrene Nikoi Olai stool Called on the chiefs to use their positions to strive for peace instead of using their positions to foster litigations noted that peace promotes development. According to him, when there is peace there will be a lot of projects and development in our towns and communities and urged leaders to do things that will promote peace and development in our communities.
‘The Ga-Adangbe language is spoken by the Ga-Adangbe people so For a town to develop or grow those who create the town and those who helped establish it or those whose parents helped establish the town must be acknowledged . If the town has developed over the years, we can’t mention names without praising the founders.
“Also For a town to develop, it needs to acknowledge and praise the founders because without them the town would not have been developed. So we need to hold them in high esteem When leaders of a town set rules and regulations to govern, those rules should be adhered to in a bid to promote peace.
