Candidates sitting this year’s Basic Certificate Examinations(BECE)in the at Senfi, Dominase, Adjamesu and Ofoase Kokobin communities of the Ashanti Region, will heave a sigh of relief as assorted stationery have been made available at no cost to the finalist who are scheduled start their examinations yesterday, Monday 17 October, 2022.
On Friday 14th October,2022, a philanthropist, Daniel Agyei Sarpong, together with some persons of good will donated some items to various public basic schools in the selected communities ahead of the start of the papers.
500 pieces of Mathematical sets were distributed. Also Pens and Pencils and other reqired items for writing the papers were handed over to schools heads for onward distribution.
Adressing the media on the sidelines of the outreach programme, Mr. Agei Sarpong, noted that
“Students at that level also deserve our support and motivation to fully prepare to face the challenge ahead. I encouraged them to deal and wash away the fear that comes with exams and also remain positive minded and maintain a positive attitude,” Management of Ghana Education service GES, in a statement released to the general public particularly candidates.
Directors of Education on Friday, October 14, 2022, stated that the Basic Education Certificate Examinations for 2022 which started yesterday, Monday 17th to Friday 21 October 2022, at all the 2,023 designated Centres throughout the country.
552,276 candidates, comprising 276,988 males and 275,288 females are expected to sit for the examination. “All Candidates and Stakeholders are assured that Management has worked very closely with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), to ensure the smooth conduct of the examinations throughout the country,” the statement further indicated.
In a bid to ensure that students remain focused and also as a sign of encouragement, Daniel Agyei Sarpong, said he was hopeful his gesture would serve as a further boost to the morale of the students to excel in the forthcoming papers.
“I have pledged two thousand GHC 2000 support to candidates who obtain aggregate six (6) with eight 1’s in all 8 subjects in the upcoming exam,” he added.
