The Caritas Foundation, a charity group, has through its aim of caring for the sick and the needy shared over thousands of packed cooked rice to street children at Kaneshie, Abossey Okai within the Greater Accra Region.
The kind gesture by the members of the group which was done couple of weeks ago forms part of their ways of putting smiles on the faces of the needy.
The group, according to information has been embarking on the initiative since their inception in Ghana years ago.
The children were also presented with other items such as bags of mineral water, tins of sugar, tin of milk among other important items.
Speaking in an interview with the media after the presentation, the Founder of the foundation, Miss Winifred Henrietta Enyonam Cofie, said, “Our main aim was to mark 2023 New Year with the needy persons and make them feel loved”.
“As a group we also aim to envision a world where all people -even the less privileged get the chance to experience love and smile” Miss Cofie disclosed.
She further stated that the foundation seeks to attempting to the needy ,reaching out to the less privileged, Impacting good moral values, teaching them the word as well inspire them to do anything meaningful in life.
“Through this exercise, we were able to put smiles on the faces of these individuals and make them feel loved and we look forward to do more to help the poor and the needy” she disclosed.
