The Chamber of Bullion Traders Ghana (CBTG) has thrown its unflinching support behind the Goldbod initiative by government, which is set to oversee and control commerce in the gold industry.
In a statement released under the hand of the Chamber’s Chief Executive officer (CEO), Daniel Krampah, he stated that the CBGT, like all other stakeholders, had had to make some concessions to make way for the birth of the new vision of Goldbod by the government.
He said, though the Goldbod is yet to go through the various processes before it gets parliamentary approval, CBTG believes the programme looks plausible and viable and must be supported.
The CEO noted “So far, the dialogues and the stakeholder engagements held by the Managing Director of the PMMC to explain and further breakdown the concept has also helped a lot in that regard.”
“We appreciate the open and transparent approach adopted in respect of the Goldbod’s engagement with stakeholders and hopes that this may continue going forward”, Mr. Krampah added.
He stressed that the Chamber is poised and ready to work with the Goldbod because they have the men with capacity and depth of experience to help the programme succeed.
