Member of Parliament(MP) for North Tongu in the Volta Region, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has eggs on his face, following the revelation by the Commission on Human Right and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), that the revered man of God, Victor Kusi Boateng, does not hold two different passports as alleged by the MP.
“The 4h Respondent Victor Kusi-Boateng a.k.a Kwabena Adu Gyamfi does not hold two (2) different passports each bearing one of his two names with different dates of birth on each document. There is no Victor Kusi-Boateng in the Passport database. The 4th Respondent has rather been issued four (4) ordinary passports (three (3) of which have expired) and one Diplomatic Passport under his name Kwabena Adu Gyamfi with the same date of birth,” the Commission cleared.
CHRAJ further declared that Victor Kusi Boateng as both director of the National Cathedral and the 5th Respondent company, did not put himself in a position where his personal interest conflicted or was likely to conflict with the performance of the functions of his office as no transaction for the provision of services existed between the National Cathedral and the 5th Respondent company.
The summary of the investigative report released after months of investigation after the MP petitioned the anti- corruption body vindicated the Prophet off any conflict of interest.
“As has become abundantly clear by now, the allegation of conflict of interest against the 4th Respondent(Victor Kusi Boateng) having been examined in the light of facts does not support the conclusion that the 4h Respondent put himself in a conflict-of-interest situation contrary to the allegations of the Complainant.
Accordingly, the aspect of the Complaint bordering on conflict of interest against the 4th Respondent is hereby dismissed for lack of merit,” CHRAJ stated in its report.
The 164-page report adduced evidence from the passport office to prove that Rev. Boateng has only one passport under the name Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.
On claims that the National Cathedral paid GHC2.6 million to Rev Boateng’s company for services provided, CHRAJ found that this is false.
According to the report, the GHC2.6 million was an interest-free loan Rev Boateng’s company provided to the National Cathedral, and it was refunded.
The loan was granted on August 27, 2021, and was paid back on September 8, 2021.
Per the report, since the GHC2.6 million was a loan, Rev Boateng, a board member of the National Cathedral, did not put himself in a conflict of interest position.
The CHRAJ report revealed that the Registrar General’s Department confirmed that Rev Boateng’s company, JS Talent Centre was registered in September 14, 2015 while it commenced business on September 15, 2015 to provide educational materials.
Recall that Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa in January 2023 petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate the Secretary of the National Cathedral Board of Trustees, Reverend Victor Kusi-Boateng, over conflict of interest, including possession of multiple identities and other alleged criminal dealings.
