The National Organizer elect of the New Patriotic Party, Sammi Awuku, has caution the newly elected national officers of the party to guard against acts of complacency in the lead up to the 2020 general elections.
He said the decision by the delegates to choose them over their opponents in the just ended national delegates’ conference is a clear vindication of the trust they have they reposed in them, adding that only hard work could reciprocate the belief of the delegates in them.
Speaking in a post conference interview in Accra, Mr Awuku did not mince words about the political struggles that laid ahead of the NPP, stressing that the party was prepared to make the necessary adjustments in its operations if needed to counter any propaganda by the opposition to thwart the efforts of the NPP government in achieving its political manifesto.
The new NPP National Organiser urged the newly elected party executives to be ready to provide timely answer to queries by the party footsoldiers to set records straight on national and local issues that affect their operations.
“Since wrestling political power in a landslide victory from the NDC, the NPP has been treating its main political foe with kids’ gloves, and I am determined to reverse that trend, Mr Awuku cautioned”. He said he is prepared to take the political fight to the doorsteps of his opponents, through effective rapport with the people and listening to their concerns with a view to addressing them.
Mr. Awuku underlined the importance of unity in nation building, pleading with all those who lost the elections to eschew any bitterness by supporting the new executives in their roles.
Mr Awuku revealed that he would soon embark on a nationwide tour of all the regional Branches of the party for brainstorming sessions. He also entreated party executives who are serving in government not to drag their feet in offering assistance to the new party executives to make their job less cumbersome. Mr. Awuku also hinted that he would soon outdoor his choices for Deputy National Organisers to support him in the tasks ahead.
