The Acting Chief of Weija Nii Boafo Danyina-nse has thrown more light on the impasse between Weija and Amanfro in the Greater Accra Region.
According to him, it will be a complete mistake to change the history of the people.
He recalled that, not too long ago most of their forefathers were farmers, stressing that people like Nii Anto Nyame II, who was his predecessor in 1991 also leased land to prospective farmers for farming and are still around.
“Now times have changed and people are fighting over every piece of land,” he said.
“In the olden days land was nothing to talk about so there were no litigation among the people,” he said.
The erroneous impression being created by Amanfro
as if certain communities didn’t exist before the construction of Weija dam is not good for peaceful coexistence.
After the creation of the dam, all these communities; Domeabra, Amanfro and Joma were relocated but Afroman was never moved.
Nii Boafo Danyina-nse went further by saying that, there is also an area in between Domeabra and Amanfro which belongs Weija for that matter no one can claim it apart from them.
“Weija was the first community established under Ngleshie Alata, followed by Domeabra, Afroman, then Amanfro, so it can never be true that Weija is under Amanfro. These are well documented facts and, does not require one person or some group of people to change it,” he said.
