…Says Persol System Does Not Belong To Jean Mensa’s Husband
The Electoral Commission (EC) has denied claims that Persol System Limited, the company awarded the contract to build the EC data centre belongs to the husband of the Chairperson of the Commission.
This follows an article making rounds on social media which seems to be making such allegation.
A statement issued by the EC said: “This is an outrageous lie since the said company has no links whatsoever to the Chairperson and her husband.”
Meanwhile, Acting Director of the Public Affairs at the EC, Sylvia Annoh in an interview urged the public to cross-check stories put on social media.
“The information is false. What is in the public domain is aimed at maligning the Chairperson of the Commission. I think going forward; persons who put such information out should be brought to book. Let me reiterate that, there is no link between Persol System Limited and the husband of the chairperson. The EC will like to appeal to the general public to check the authenticity of such comments.”
Contract to Persol Limited
The electoral body has awarded the contract for the construction of the new Production and Disaster Recovery Datacentre to Persol Systems Limited, which has begun the processes for construction centre.
Telecommunication giant, MTN, also secured the contract to provide network or internet connectivity services to the various district offices of the Commission.
The selection was made following a successful international competitive tender process and the subsequent shortlisting of bidders last year, in compliance with the Public Procurement Act regulations.
