Owner of one of Ghana’s investment giants, Falcon Crest Investment Limited, Samuel Kofi Diame, has been accused of illegally claiming ownership and selling an 80 acre-land belonging to the Numo Kofi Anum Family opposite the late TB Joshua’s Church, off the Spintex Road in the Greater Accra Region to unsuspecting estate developers.
According to the Family, Mr. Diame, has allegedly defied a court injunction and continues to carry himself as the legitimate owner of the land to further his illegal action.
It is alleged that, police officials have on many occasions, sacked workers at the site but the estate developers continue to order the workers back to the site with an order from Mr. Diame.
Speaking to the New Crusading GUIDE, a member of the Numo Kofi Anum Family, Pastor Peace-Maker Djan, said the family had won court judgement on the land years ago but Mr. Diame has allegedly become a law unto himself and continue to claim ownership of the land.
The land, he said, was acquired by their late forefathers and expressed worry over the actions by Mr. Diame.
“The Appeal and Supreme Courts of justice has placed an injunction on the land in which the parties were served to vacate the site but they have disregarded the court orders and are furthering with the development of the land through an order by Mr. Diame,” he alleged.
According to Mr. Djan, members of the family have always been attacked by armed men employed on the land by Mr. Diame anytime they visited the site as legitimate owners of the place.
He stated that the family has on several occasions asked Mr. Diame to produce documents on the land but he always refused to do so.
“We don’t want to put the law into our own hands and that’s why we continue to prevent the youth of the family from confronting workers at the site” he stated.
For his part, a son of the Head of the Numo Kofi Anum Family, Philip OkoeAmartey Mensah, said the family has about 998 acres of land some of which fall within East Legon and East Airport areas and opposite the late TB Joshua’s Church.
He noted Mr. Diame and the estate developers were only taking advantage of the family’s law abiding character and illegally developing the land.
The son of the Family Head disclosed the family’s readiness to fight the encroachers through the court for the protection of their long acquired property.
Meanwhile, when contacted this paper contacted Mr. Samuel Kofi Diame for his response to the allegation, he asked the Reporter, “are you aware the matter is before court?” and hanged up.
