The first phase of a Poultry Processing Plant in Ejisu Constituency has commenced at Donyina.
The facility is expected to create more jobs for the youth in the area.
The Poultry Processing Plant at Donyina is part of the Member of Parliament’s (MP) “Ejisu Club 100: Youth in Agriculture Initiative.”
The MP, Hon John Kumah paid a working visit to the project site to familiarize himself with progress of work.
According to him, the initial phase of the project will grow 20,000 birds with its system being fully automated with innovation to attract the youth in Ejisu and empower his constituents.
He also revealed that the land has been cleared for construction to commence on Phase 2.
He expressed appreciation to the Chief and people of Donyina for releasing adequate land and support to ensure the successful accomplishment of the initiative.
Hon. John Kumah said he identified unemployment as one of the biggest problems in the constituency and he is taking steps to ensure that the unemployment level down.
To address the situation, he said, he intended to create at least 100 entrepreneurs with an annual turnover of GH¢1 million each over the next four years.
He said he had already met with graduates in his constituency and encouraged most of them to start their own businesses and by so doing they will be able to create more jobs for the youth.
