Mr. Francis Owusu-Akyaw, an international minerals expert, has filed his nomination forms to contest as a parliamentary candidate on the ticket of New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Juaben Constituency in the Ashanti region.
Accompanied by a mammoth number of NPP faithfuls to the NPP office of Juabeng Constituency, Mr Owusu-Akyaw submitted his forms which included bankers’ draft of the stipulated fee for first-time aspirants as well as certificates of his profession and work experiences to affirm his decision to contest for the Juaben seat in parliament. This was after he with some party faithfuls thronged the principal streets of the constituency to announce his candidature to wrestle power from the incumbent Member of Parliament, Hon Ama Pomaa Boateng, also of the NPP.
The parliamentary hopeful, known for his transparency, accountability and accessibility, made known of his preparedness to redeem the constituency from a number of debilitating challenges dwarfing the development of the constituency in a press briefing. He said that the constituency needs someone of his statute to put into place more developmental projects to rescue the constituency from its poor state. This was when he mentioned some of the developmental projects he’s put in place even without power that include the construction of a police post at Achiase-Bomfa, renovation of Esaase M/A JHS teachers quarters and construction of mechanized boreholes among others.
Mr Francis Owusu-Akyaw, affectionately described as “Redeemer of Juaben”, also made known his intentions to work in diverse ways to drastically improve NPP’s number votes in the 2020 General Election in the constituency.
Mr Francis Owusu-Akyaw, who through his numerous benevolent support to the people of his constituency has earned the accolade “benignant and humane person”, has pledged to heighten his support for youth development and education in the constituency if given the nod to become the Member of Parliament for the Juaben Constituency.
Mr Alex Sarfo Kantanka, Constituency Chairman for Juaben NPP, receiving the forms commended the new aspirant for abiding by the rules of the party, comporting himself well and fulfilling all the requirements of the process.
He asked that before and after the vetting same attitude should be displayed by all aspirants and their team members in the constituency.
