…To Needy Students
Deputy Minister of Communication who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West Constituency in the Central Region Mr. George Andah has given scholarship package to 80 brilliant but needy tertiary students to mark his year anniversary after involving in an Accident during a tour in his constituency.
The move is to improve their knowledge and also empower them to become prominent personalities in the future.
Yet, the financial constraints associated with this urban poor, seem to foil the plans of their wards to further their education at the university level.
According to the MP, access to quality education remains a challenge to many of these needy but brilliant students who are interested in pursuing higher education.
Speaking at a ceremony to honour the needy in the constituency the MP said “It is in my supreme interest to support these vulnerable in my constituency to the last ladder of their educational career,”.
The beneficiary students include both male and female, who are at the various universities pursuing different programmes.
He used the medium to appeal to the parents of these needy but brilliant students in the constituency to take advantage of the existing opportunities to assist their wards.
He charged the beneficiaries to position themselves to become great assets to the next generation, their families and the world.
Meanwhile DCE for Awutu Senya West Stephen Kwame Quaye also charged them to stay away from drugs abuse
