Four persons, including an AVIANCE staff have been arrested for their alleged involvement in gold smuggling at the Kotoka International Airport.
The suspects attempted to smuggle about 13 kg worth of Gold through KIA to Dubai when a special unit under the National Security apprehended and arrested them last Friday after putting surveillance on the syndicate.

The four arrested persons made up of one Aviance staff, a travel agent and two travelers who was about to board EMIRATES flight number EK788 from Accra to Dubai.
They arrested persons are Benjamin Abeiku Quansah, a traveler, Daniel Tetteh, traveler, Ebenezer Kwame Addo a travel agent and Mavis Adomako, a staff of AVIANCE Company
A cash of USD6531 and GHS140 were also seized on the travellers
Other items. Made up of eight phones and three Ghanaian passports confiscated.
According to Airport security sources, the Suspects are currently being interrogated at the BNI after which gold would be sent to Ghana Standards Authority for Assaying.
