Western North Grassroots Agenda (WENGA), a pro-NPP group from the Western North region has presented a citation in honour of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai Constituency, Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng.
The Group which was at Parliament to present the citation said the recognition was in line with the many contributions the people of the Western North region received from the MP.
They described Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng as the STAR of the Western North.
According to WENGA, before his elections as the MP, he has done a lot for the region and for which, the people of the Western Region are grateful.
“Firstly, the Hon. MP donated three Nissan pickups at the cost of Ghs 530,000to the Ghana Police Service in the region. Again, He donated a generator plant at the cost of GhC170, 000.00 to Bibiani government hospital, he also initiated Project 100. The project was aimed at training 100 young people on how to operate heavy duty machines and equipment, like excavators, ADT machines and many more. Ghs300 was paid to the beneficiaries per month as pocket allowance for a period of 6months,” they stated.
The Group also averred that Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng donated 1 pick up at the cost of$35000 to support the creation of the Western North Region and also started the construction of 25 mechanized boreholes in the Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai Constituency out of which 10 have been completed and commissioned.
“The Hon. MP has started doing lots of things some few months when he is sworn in as the MP for the Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai Constituency.
Construction of ultramodern library and ICT center at Subiri Nkwanta and Ahwiaso, construction of KG block at Kwaaso and he has just lunched operation 500 entrepreneur in his constituency. This is aimed at training and raising 500 entrepreneurs each year in his constituency.”
The Group represented by its Convenor, Isaac Amanor maintained that the MP deserves the STAR of the Western North Region award and for that matter; they have conferred it on him.
Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng receiving the citation expressed gratitude to the group and indicated that, the citation is a manifestation that his works are being recognized by the people in the region.
