…As He Files Nomination To Contest Seat
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) invisibility at the Kpone-Kantamnaso constituency in the Greater Accra region came to an end when Hopeson Adorye filed his nominations to contest the seat.
The NPP in the 2016 elections reduced the over 16,000 vote’s difference to just 3,000 and executives believe that electing Mr. Adorye as parliamentary candidate would help the party achieve its dream of wrestling the seat.
Records indicates that the NPP has never won the seat since 1992 but the constituency executives believe Mr. Adorye could turn the table for the ruling party come 2020.
Speaking with is reporter after filing his nominations last Saturday, at the party’s constituency office Mr. Adorye indicated that he is ready to work with all party executives and members to wrestle the parliamentary seat from the NDC in the 2020 elections.
As someone who has been a former assemblyman and constituency secretary for the NPP in the area, he promised a landslide victory in the 2020 general elections for the party.
Mr. Adorye’s decision to contest the seat, he added was borne out of pleas by the constituency executives for him to contest the primaries to consolidate NPP’s victory in election 2020.
The NPP man, who was followed by hundreds of supporters to file his nominations appealed to delegates to give him the needed supports to win the seat for the party.
