The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has rolled out an ambitious plan to build 130 mechanised boreholes to ease persistent water challenges across the constituency.
Describing the initiative as both urgent and transformational, the MP said many communities still struggle with reliable access to clean drinking water, making the intervention a top priority.
In an interview on Power 97.9 FM and TV XYZ on December 1, Mrs. Gyan explained that her commitment to solving the water crisis predates her time in Parliament.
“Before the 2024 elections, I built 60 mechanised boreholes. After becoming MP, I completed 30 more, and 40 additional units are currently under construction,” she said.
She stressed that the project aligns with her long-term development vision for Amenfi Central and hopes it will stand as a lasting legacy that improves lives and strengthens communities.
Several beneficiary areas have already expressed gratitude for the improved water access as more communities await their turn. Mrs. Gyan reaffirmed her dedication to delivering essential services and raising living standards across the constituency.
