George Mireku Duker is facing hard times ahead of the NPP Primaries as the Chief Executive Officer of Joy Foundation; Joy Joycelyn Andoh expressed her desire to contest the primaries. The decision by Joy Joycelyn Andoh to join the race has sent shivers down the spines of the incumbent MP, who many people believe has lost his relevance in the community. Meanwhile, Joy Joycelyn Andoh is seen as a possible contender to George Mireku Duker over the NPP seat in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem. Joycelyn Andoh whose work as a leader of the NPP Loyal Ladies has won the hearts of majority of party supporters and delegates who have declared their support of voting for her to become the MP aspirant of the party. Although George Mireku Duker has been holding the seat for some number of years, many said the coming of Jocelyn would be the game changer. According to them, they have clamoured for such a vibrant personality to lead the party in the constituency for too long and that since Joycelyn Andoh is contesting the primaries, they would offer themselves for her to succeed. NPP supporters in the constituency are willing to campaign massively for Joy Joycelyn Andoh to win the primaries and win the elections as well. Meanwhile, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency Mr. George Mireku-Duker, has picked nomination forms to contest the 2020 parliamentary elections. This is the second time Mr. Mireku-Duker has picked nomination forms from the office to announce publicly his intention to contest the parliamentary seat on the ticket of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP). Mr. George Mireku-Duker became the MP for the area in 2016 after beating the longest-serving Member of Parliament in the history of this country, Mrs. Eugenia Kusi in NPP’s parliamentary primaries in 2015. But, speaking to some delegates they noted that although Duker has done a lot for the constituency, they have absolute faith in that Joycelyn will do more and achieve much more for the constituency.
