Addressing the media after the coronation and Daniel Nii Ardey Tagoe, head of the Nii Arde Nkpa Family indicated that the family had acquired a Court Judgment in recent times that asserts their ownership of the aforementioned lands.
He added that, hitherto, the family had remained silent for a long time, allowing encroachments and wanton dissipation of their lands, resulting in unbearable poverty and hardship to members of their family, especially the elderly.
As a result, the family has moved to re-structure the leadership in the above township aimed at “putting the family on the highway of development”, installing chiefs and sub-chiefs to steer the affairs of those three towns.
He added further that “it is about time we turn the image of Kokrobite, Langba and Tuba into a tourism attractive and development friendly area.
According to the family head, the move is also aimed at weeding out “all fraudulent documents on our lands, also to help developers without proper documents to attain one”.
