The Akwraboye Doku Family of Atrekor-Teshie has raised red flags over the activities of land guards on 748.039 acres of land at Otano, which was allegedly led by one Michael Adjei and Sarah Maame Ama Forkuo.
The activities of these land guards are creating tension in the area as residents who hitherto have been living in peace are now in constant fear of the operations of these land guards.
In a Petition dated January 17, 2023 sent to the President, Head of the Akwraboye Doku Family, Nii Samuel Mensah Adjei-Shia stated that the 748.039 acres of land in question has been duly registered following ruling and judgements of the court of competent jurisdiction.
He pointed out that the High Court ended the matter in 2015 and also, a Supreme Court judgement in 2018 went in their favour.
“Furthermore, we have been able to obtain the land certificate of the parcel of land and also gotten the Writ of Possession which has subsequently been executed and obtained the certificate of execution,” he stated.
Meanwhile, documents available indicate that the said land was first granted in 2001 to Ekua Abokoma Ampa who subsequently gave her interest in the land to Aminu Ahmed.
Aminu Ahmed took possession of the land and he constructed a fence wall and a building up to roofing level and remained in peaceful possession of the land until January 11, 2023.
Unidentified persons believed to be land guards stormed the said land and demolished the building and the fence wall and started fresh construction works on the land.
Interesting revelations coming in indicate that Sarah Maame Ama Forkuo, who is believed to be leading the demolition with land guards, claims to have the support of some two top police officers for which her actions on the land cannot be questioned by anybody.
Her supposed support she receives from these police officers however made her seemingly ‘powerful’ to the extent that residents in the area remain helpless in the events of all these attacks, and undue takeover of their properties.
Meanwhile, members of the Akwraboye Doku Family who are peeved at the recent developments, said they have decided to follow due procedure in dealing with the illegality on their land hence the petition to the President.
They however stated strongly that they would embark on a confrontation that may result in bloodshed should their petition is not considered and the police administration is instructed to fight away the land guards on their land.
