President John Dramani Mahama marked his 67th birthday on Saturday with a compassionate gesture — celebrating the day not with grand events, but in the children’s wards of two major health facilities in Accra.
The President, joined by his wife and children, visited the LEKMA Hospital and Maamobi Polyclinic, where he interacted with young patients and their families while distributing assorted items and cash donations. Each child on admission received support to help ease their treatment journey.
During the visit, President Mahama arranged the transfer of a young girl in need of advanced medical attention to the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) to ensure she received the appropriate care.
He also expressed admiration for the dedication of doctors, nurses and other staff at both hospitals, presenting financial support to the workers in recognition of their service.
Health professionals at LEKMA and Maamobi described the visit as uplifting, noting that the President’s birthday gesture brought warmth, renewed motivation and smiles across the wards.
