The Dzaase of Osu Ashante Blohum has released a press statement to disown and also to discredit the circular supposed to be coming from a certain fake ‘Osu Fact Finding Secretariat’ which purports to parade the embattled former Mankralo of Osu Ashante in the person of Nii Ako Nortei IV (a.k.a Samuel Okwei Nortei) as the acting Chief of Osu.
The statement indicated that the Dzaase of Osu Ashante Blohum reserves the right to enstool or appoint a Mankralo, Nadu-Klottey Wulomo and other traditional positions within their jurisdiction in the Osu traditional settings and also reserves the prerogative and the sole responsibility to de-stool or disappoint same.
It emphasized that they are by this statement also notifying the general public and the governmental traditional statutory institutions that the so-called Mankralo referred to in the press statement of the fake Osu Fact Finding Secretariat has been de-stooled long ago on Friday 30th December,2016 and further warned “those unscrupulous indigenes behind that fake ‘Osu fact finding Secretariat’ to desist from such shameful acts”.
It said, the Dzaase followed all the laid down traditional rites and procedures associated with de-stoolment of the Mankralo and that the position of Osu Ashante Blohum Dzaase has not changed in the matter, notwithstanding the fact that Nii Ako Nortei purports to be a member of the Osu Traditional Council and the Vice President of the Council but Nii Ako Nortei IV has no place in any of Osu Traditional structure and he ceased to represent Ashante Blohum after his destoolment.
“We also want to make it clear to all and sundry that it is the sole entitlement of the people of Kinkawe Quarter and Kinkawe Dzaase to act as Osu mantse in the absence of Mantse, they also own the right to nominate, elect and install Osu Mantse for the entire people of Osu”, it stressed.
“No one from Osu Ashante quarter or any other quarter shall henceforth be allowed to cross over and interfere with laid down Traditions. We are by this medium calling on Her Excellency the first lady, Our daughter to take advantage of the current situation to help bring lasting solution to the Osu Mantse saga, finally, we urge the good people of Osu, Ashante Blohum quarter and the entire citizens of Osu to keep calm as we work towards reviving the long-lost peace but to bring unity, growth and development we have been longing for many years,” it noted.
