The Chief Executive Officer for McDan Group of Companies, Mr.Daniel McKorley has set aside funds to support any Ghanaian entrepreneur who wishes to produce hand sanitizers.
This move by McDan is to help provide locally made hand sanitizers which are effective but affordable considering the high prices of the exotic ones.
The Businessman made this known in a post he shared on his social media platforms when he said, “As we prepare to launch McDan Entrepreneurship Challenge season 2, global pandemic covid-19 is threatening our livelihood, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
His support comes in the wake of the shortage of hand sanitizers in Ghana following confirmation of coronavirus (COVID-19) by Health Ministry.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, people rushed to the various shops and supermarkets and retail trading Centre’s across the country to look for the products to buy.
Interestingly, shopping centers like Marina Mall, Accra Mall, Citydia Supermarket in Accra and Melcom Shopping Malls as well as some retail outlets reveled shortage of the commodity which has been prescribed by medical practitioners as the immediate measure to prevent the spread of the virus.
There is however, high demand for the disinfectant as most patrons had been left disappointed following shortage of the sanitizers in the market.
As the confirmed cases keep rising, people are still looking for sanitizers to buy.
It also emerged that some supermarkets and various shops in Ghana have begun selling hand sanitizers at outrageous prices following the announcement COVID-19 cases in the country.
Meanwhile, government has assured the general public of its commitment to make the products available on the market.
