Elders and Custodians of the Osu Stool (Sei Kwame) over the weekend held a short ceremony to outdoor the newly crafted logo which shall represent the symbol of authority of the Stool going forward.
The outdooring of the emblem comes after the Dzaase of Osu successfully installed Notse Nii Nortey Owu IV some few months ago to replace the deceased Nii Knika Dowuona VL.
In unanimity and concord, all the four various Quarters namely Osu Kinkawe, Osu Alata, Osu Ashante and Osu Anorhor, were largely and fairly present at the occasion of the outdooring of emblem or the Osu Seal.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Osiahene of Osu Nii Nortey Adumuah IV indicated saying; “going forward we are all aware of the myriad of issues confronting Osu and therefore the need for unity and cohesion within the rank and file of the Osu Traditional Council now more than ever before.”
He said, key on their agenda is the immediate effort mobilition towards resolution of all issues and rancor the traditional council settings and the pressing need to reduce unemployment amongst the youth in the area.
He also stressed on the need to “improve infrastructural development and of course to improve the low levels of education amongst our young ones.”
Osu is the heart beat of Accra and a cosmopolitan center in terms of trade and commerce and also the Seat of government. It also lays claim to vast parcel of lands at prime areas in Accra and yet the indigenes appears to lack a lot of amenities and social welfare due to lack of unity and frictions within their Chieftaincy setup in the past.
