The Heads and Lawful Representatives of the Afutu Brempong family of Teshie, have revealed that the recent disturbances on a Pantang Hospital land which six innocent workers of Jeleel Company were arrested, was orchestrated by one Sarah Forkuo, daughter of the Managing Director of Osamanpa Estate Developers, hence are calling for her arrest.
According to them, the six persons arrested and branded as ‘notorious land guards’ are mere company security guards employed to watch over the company properties,
There have been some media publications of the arrest of the six “notorious land guards” for attacking, shooting and brutalizing one Masawudu Swallah at Pantang in Accra.
However, painstaking investigations into the developments revealed that, on Friday, April 17, 2020, some persons including Warrant Officer of the Ghana Army, Peter Nimo and three civilian employees of the Ghana Army Corp of Engineers led by Sarah Ama Forkuo stormed the Company lands in Pantang and demolished buildings valued in excess of One Million Ghana Cedis without any Court Order.
The trespassers, according to information went to the area with a grader and razed down building properties claiming they were doing so on the orders of the Nii Afutu Brempong Family.
As the unlawful demolition was ongoing, a caretaker of the Company, Jonas Adu went to the Adenta District Police Station and lodge a complaint of the unlawful entry by Sarah Ama Forkuo and her gang.
Following the complaint, the Adenta Police arrested both the trespassers and officers of the Jeleel Company Limited who had gone to the land to resist the trespassers from further causing harm.
In the process, six company workers and Warrant Officer of the Ghana Army, Peter Nimo, three civilian employees of the Ghana Army Corp of Engineers and Miss Sarah Nana Ama Forkuo were arrested.
Although their Statements were taken after the arrest, the Adenta Divisional Commander transferred the matter to the Greater Accra Regional Command where attempts were made to process the workers of the Company for Court, after attempts to get them bailed proved futile until Sunday evening.
The workers of Jeleel Company, Samad Yusif, Sakibu Ali, Iddrissu Mumuni, Mustapha Fatau, Tahiru Yakubu and Imoro Sulemana were thus held for by the Police for over 48 hours.
Meanwhile, the Nii Afutu Brempong Family Proprietors of land in Pantang, part of which has been acquired by the Government of Ghana through Executive Instrument 42 (E.I 42) said neither Sarah Ama Forkuo nor her Mother, CEO of Osamanpa Estate Company was authorized to litigate over the land on the family’s behalf and that any attempts by them to claim any lands in that area are fraudulent and constitute breaches of the peace in that area.
According to the Lawful Attorney of Nii Afutu Brempong Family, Stephen Nii Arko Thompson Osamanpa Estate Developers have not been authorized to litigate over any lands in the Pantang Hospital area and that the Nii Afutu Brempong Family, entreats the Ghana Police Service, Adenta Abokobi Division to reject any complaints by the Osamanpa Developers Company in respect of the lands in the Pantang Hospital area and advise her to resort to the Courts of Ghana against the Nii Afutu Brempong Family if she has a claim to title to any, land around Pantang Hospital.
He stressed that the trespassers, who are now trying to manipulate the Course of Justice, have no legal title to the land in issue, and that Sarah Forkuo who procured the grader with which they used in the demolition is not a member of the Jeleel Company nor their agent.
“She is under all the above circumstances, a trespasser” and must be arrested.
It also emerged that the said lady Sarah Ama Forkuo again, allegedly led group of land guards armed with AK47 Riffles onto the land on Monday April 20, 2020.
Both the Nii Afutu Brempong Family and the Jeleel Company in separate petitions indicated that in the interest of fairness, the CID at the National Headquarters should take over the matter from the Adenta Police Station and the Greater Accra Region Office of the Ghana Police Service and investigate the matter at the National level.
