…Chief Expresses Disappointment In Elders
Snippets of information gathered from Asokore Mampong has revealed some sinister ploy by some faceless personalities to create enmity between the Chief of the Area, Nana Prof. Susubiribi S. K. B Asante and the District Chief Executive, Mary Boatemaa Marfo.
In order to create that bad blood between the two, some elders this paper has gathered, spewed into the public domain claims that the Chief, Nana Prof. Susubiribi S. K. B Asante was demanding the removal of the DCE.
Information gathered indicated that there was a planned press conference which was to be held at the Traditional Council where the Chief and the DCE were to be present.
However, Nana Prof. Susubiribi S. K. B Asante could not get to the venue of the press conference on time, and upon his arrival he was informed that the Press Conference had ended and the information given to few media organisations that were present was that he (Nana Prof. Susubiribi S. K. B Asante) said he was not comfortable with the work of the DCE, hence called on the President to remove her from office.
However, in an interview with the Chief, he expressed disgust at the whole development.
According to him, he was at the palace in the company of the DCE having some discussions on some ongoing developments and how possible they could work together to find solutions to the problems confronting the communities.
He said for anybody to suggest to the media that I was scheming for the removal of the DCE, is unbelievable.
Nana Prof. Susubiribi S. K. B Asante said he left his Palace to the Traditional Council for the Press conference after having a fruitful deliberation with the DCE.
“As I got to the Traditional Council in the company of my driver, we were told that some elders already engaged some journalists from Angel FM, that I said I don’t like the DCE and therefore the President must remove him from that position,” he said.
He expressed disappointment in the Journalists who were present at the said press conference for not coming to him to verify the claims that were levelled against him but rather chose to publish falsehood.
According to him, he is law abiding and for that matter, would not do anything to undermine the decision of the President.
He noted that the information put out by the said elders, was nothing but an attempt to destroy the relationship between him and the DCE which he said, will eventually affect the progress and development of the area.
“I have never said anywhere that I don’t like the DCE. I was to be part of that press conference, but when I got there, I was told they finished. Yet those self-seeking elders lied to the Media about me,” he said.
He therefore cautioned people peddling falsehood about him and trying to sew a seed of discord between him and the DCE to desist from the act.
“But the next time I will hear such falsehood from any person, I am prepared to take that person on. The truth should always be told. I am not against anybody holding a press conference or talking to the media, but it will be best if the issues to be raised are the truth,” he said.
