The final chapter in the remarkable earthly journey of Apostle Emeritus Professor Engineer Kwadwo Safo, one of Ghana’s most celebrated spiritual leaders, inventors, industrialists, technologists and philanthropists, will be marked with a grand National Thanksgiving Service this Saturday 8th August  at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi.
The solemn but joyous service, scheduled to commence at 9:00 a.m., is being organized by the Kristo Asafo Mission, in collaboration with the Kantanka  family, to express profound gratitude to God for the extraordinary life of a man whose 113 years on earth profoundly impacted Ghana and humanity.
According to the organizers, the thanksgiving service is intended not only to celebrate the life of the late Apostle but also to thank God for blessing his family, the Church and the nation with a visionary whose legacy continues to shape Ghana’s spiritual, technological, industrial, agricultural and socio-economic development.
Throughout his lifetime, Apostle Kwadwo Safo championed the philosophy that the African is the architect of his own destiny, inspiring generations to believe in their own abilities and to pursue innovation, self-reliance and indigenous technological advancement.
His legacy spans virtually every sphere of national development. He founded the Kantanka Group, established Ghana’s pioneering indigenous automobile manufacturing industry through Kantanka Automobile, developed hundreds of engineering innovations and industrial machines, established large-scale manufacturing plants, promoted mechanised agriculture, created thousands of jobs, invested significantly in education and vocational skills training, expanded the Kristo Asafo Mission into a global Christian movement, and supported countless vulnerable individuals through his extensive philanthropic works.
His inventions and innovations continue to stand as enduring symbols of African ingenuity and technological excellence.
The thanksgiving service follows an unprecedented series of funeral activities that attracted massive participation from across Ghana and beyond.
The late Apostle was laid to rest at Gomoa Mpota, the home of his renowned technology institution and innovation hub, following an emotional burial ceremony attended by thousands of mourners,
traditional rulers, clergy, and members of the Kristo Asafo Mission.
His burial at Gomoa Mpota was deeply symbolic. It was at this historic centre of innovation that many of his groundbreaking technological inventions, engineering projects and industrial ideas were conceived and developed.
The institution remains a living monument to his lifelong commitment to science, technology, industrialisation and the empowerment of Africans through home-grown innovation.
Prior to his burial, Ghana witnessed one of the largest funeral gatherings in recent history at the Black Star Square (formerly Independence Square) in Accra, where tens of thousands of mourners converged to pay their final respects.
The overwhelming attendance at both Accra and the burial ceremony at Gomoa Mpota reflected the immense national and international respect Apostle Kwadwo Safo commanded throughout his lifetime.
The ceremonies celebrated not only a revered spiritual leader but also an accomplished inventor, industrialist, farmer, educationist and philanthropist whose life’s work transformed countless lives and inspired generations.
Saturday’s thanksgiving service is expected to draw another distinguished gathering of  traditional authorities, industrialists, academics, clergy and members of the Kristo Asafo Mission from across the country.
Among the eminent ministers of the Gospel who have confirmed their participation are Rev. Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah, Founder and General Overseer of the Believers Worship Centre (Philadelphia Movement),, Rev. Eastwood Anaba, Founder and President of Eastwood Anaba Ministries and Senior Pastor of Fountain Gate Chapel. Apostle Francis Amoako Atta ,  The founder and  General Overseer of  Patliament Chapel International .
Their participation highlights the profound spiritual significance of the occasion and the high esteem in which the late Apostle was held across the Christian community.
The service will feature worship, thanksgiving, scriptural exhortation, special musical ministrations, tributes and prayers of gratitude to God for the exceptional gift that Apostle Emeritus Professor Engineer Kwadwo Safo was to his family, the Kristo Asafo Mission and Ghana
