An Accra high court (probate court 1) on Friday 18 July 2025 at about 9:30 convicted Kofi Komla Anku to a fine of GHC 2000.or go to jail in default of payment.
BACKGROUND
The owner and the managing director of Volta Ghana Investment Limited (VGIL)a real estate company Dr Daniel Vincent Anku died almost a year ago.
Strangely, less than 48hours after the late Dr Anku’s was read, the now convicted criminal Kofi Komla Anku with the speed of light through his lawyers Thaddeus Sory Sory @law) filled a law suit challenging the veracity of his father’s WILL
The Executors of the WILL in the circumstances have no choice but put on their legal gowns and stand head to head with Thaddeus Sory in court
Lawyer David Ametefe a private legal practitioner and lawyer Frank Katapu a senior police officer the named Executors in the WILL have madam Marese Okpei as their legal counsel.
During the trial, it became very clear to the Executors and their lawyers that Kofi Komla Anku was busily running ahead of time building on lands meant for other beneficiaries named in the WILL.
Prominent among those lands is a 5 acre land located at Matey Tsru in the East Airport enclave given to Khama Yawa Anku the only daughter of the late Dr Daniel Vincent Anku.
A smart legal move by the Executors’ lawyer resulted in another suit and an injunction against Kofi Anku.
The learned and a fair minded judge sitting on the case ruled in favor of the injunction and in effect ordered seizure of any development undertaken by Kofi Anku on the land in issue.
In the minds of the Executors,Kofi Komla Anku who was born in the united states of America should know better.
It was really shocking to see videos emerging from the lands showing speedy development in gross and blatant disregard for court orders.
Contempt was filled,he was tried and convicted on criminal contempt of
court.
We are mighty glad the judgment proved that American citizenship is not and can never be a license to disrespect Ghanaian laws.
It really reaffirmed the power of our sorveignty as a Nation who’s laws are meant to be obeyed
In an interview with his elder sister Khama Yawa Anku this is what she said “”His deepsited arrogance propelled by greed gives him such a shameful tag of a convicted criminal””
