The Member of Parliament for the Suhum constituency in the Eastern Region, Oboafo Kwadjo Asante was given a rousing welcome by the Suhum market folks during his working visit to the business center.
The women when heard of the MP’s entrance to the market rush from their shops to welcome him with songs of praise, whiles some composed their songs in praise to hail him.
The MP when interacting assured them of an economic boom soon as the Akufo-Addo-led Government is busy working things out to stabilize the economy.
He used the open opportunity to inspect some security and electrification projects he embarked on in the market recently and the walling of the market was ongoing.
In a brief address, Oboafo Kwadjo Asante commended traders for ensuring peaceful coexistence and entreated them to live peacefully among themselves.
He promised to facilitate the completion of the fence wall and employ some persons as security in the market for the safety of their property and goods.
He also donated two pairs of loudspeaker horns requested by the market women of two to enhance information dissemination in the market.
Oboafo Kwadjo Asante after the engagement said, “market in every community is very important that is where we eat and buys everything so occasionally as leaders we need to visit them and speak to the leadership of the market, they told us a lot of their challenges and by the grace of God we have been able to solve the majority of them so now they are happy”.
According to him “we will make sure all that is left will be provided for them in no time since they are our mothers, we need them they also help us in our political discourse”.
“We have started the slaughterhouse, now the base is set we’ve done the foundation, within one month the structure must be ready so we are on course”.
The MP further promised to support the Amponsah market with a lockable gate to fully fenced the market to prevent thieves from breaking into the market during the night.
The MP was accompanied by the Constituency Party chairman, Frederick Ofosu, and some of the executives.
