One Theophilos Ankamah has been accused of persistently attacking people with his hired landguards at Kwabenya within the Ga East Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
Allegations are also flying in thick and fast that the action by Ankamah Aryee and his team of landguards are negatively affecting daily activities within the area.
Addressing a press conference at Kwabenya last Monday, the Chief of Kwabenya-Musuku, Nii Tetteh Dzanyogo V, described Ankamah Aryee is a self-acclaimed chief in the area.
Nii Dzanyogo V called on the general public to disregard Mr. Ankamah Aryee as chief of the Kwabenya Tradition Area. “Mr. Ankamah has daily been threatening the entire people of Kwabenya with a team of fully armed-landguards, ” the Kwabenya-Musuku Chief disclosed.
The Chief called on the Ga Chief, Nii Teiko Tsuru II ensured that Mr. Ankamah is called to order to help bring peace in the area.
He alleged that Mr. Ankamah Aryee and his team have forcibly taken individual properties for their personal benefits and called on the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency Elikplim Akurugu, to use her political power to foster peace in the area.
“We also have the men to battle Mr. Ankamah Aryee and his guys, but we don’t want to put the law into our own hands, and that is why we are calm at the moment, ” the Chief stated.
Nii Dzanyogo V also pleaded with President John Dramani Mahama and the Minister of Interior to intervene before things get out of hands.
Meanwhile, the Dzaasetse of Kwabenya, Nii Tetteh Ame II, who spoke on behalf of Mr. Ankamah Aryee refuted all the allegations against Mr. Ankamah Aryee.
Also, the brother of Mr. Ankamah Aryee, the Dzaasetse admitted there is currently misunderstanding in the area but blamed it on Nii Tetteh Dzanyogo V.
He disclosed that Nii Tetteh Dzanyogo I is currently wanted by the police over his illegalities in Kwabenya.
