Delegation from the Tijaniya Muslim Council of Ghana (TMCG) on Tuesday went to the premises of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, the Crusading Guide, the Daily Dispatch and the Ghanaian Times Corporation. The visit was to show the Council’s appreciation to managements and staffs of these media houses for consistent coverage of their events.
The delegation was headed by the Supreme Leader of Tijaniya Ghana who doubles as the President of the TMCG, Sheikh Abul-Faidi Abdulai Maikano. Citations were awarded to some media houses and outstanding personalities in the media fraternity. The first port of call was the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation.
Management of GBC led by the Director General accorded warm reception to the TMCG delegation. Napoleon Ato kittoe was awarded a citation for his hard work and dedications.
Receiving the citation Napo as he is affectionately called promised to continue to do more of his best and that he sees this award as a tonic for him to work harder for TMCG and GBC.
He expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Khalifa and the Tijaniya fraternity for the honour done him. The Director General of GBC Professor Amin Alhassan received another citation on behalf of GBC with appreciation and a call on TMCG to continue the relationship, prayers and friendship with GBC. He added that more of Napoleon will be produced.
At the office of the Crusading Guide in Accra, the Editor in Chief Abdul Malik Kweku Baako together with Editor Ernest Addo were also awarded citations for their immense contribution to the course of TMCG.
The next destination of the delegation was the office of the Daily Dispatch. The Supreme leader of Tijaniya Ghana Sheikh Abul-Faidi Abdulai Maikano Jallo interacted with the Chief Editor Ben Ephson and some of his staff member on issues concerning religion and politics. Mr Ben was grateful for the visit and promised also to be part of the upcoming Qur’an recitation for peace, scheduled to take place on the 26th of February, 2020 at Prang in the Pru district of the Bono East region.
The delegation proceeded to the Ghanaian Times Corporation to pay compliment to management and staffs. They were received by Editor Mr. Dave Agbenu. He expressed his gratitude after receiving the award citation from the Supreme leader of Tijaniya Ghana on behalf of the Corporation. In all the places visited by the Tijaniya delegation, Sheikh Abul-Faidi Abdulai Maikano Jallo appreciates the work of the media by describing it as an agent and tool for development. He advised journalist to entirely separate religion from politics and should be circumspect in their reportage. Sheikh Khalifa used the opportunity to invite all the media houses to the 57th
Annual Qur’an recitation.
The National Chairman of TMCG Sheikh Tahir Saeed on his part thanked all the media houses for having time out of their busy schedule to fete the Tijaniya delegation. Other members of the delegation were the deputy National Organiser Mallam Latif
