The District Chief Executive(DCE) for Wassa East in the Western Region has commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo-led government for making sure the chiefs and people within Wassa East district have their fair share of the national cake since assumption of office in the year 2017.
According to Hon Emmanuel Boakye, the Wassa east DCE, his predecessor, William Arthur during his tenure of office performed very well by making sure every project that came out from the central government was executed through the district assembly.
Briefing the media in an exclusive interview at the district assembly in Daboase, the district capital of Wassa east, Hon Emmanuel Boakye enumerated the numerous developmental projects some of which have been completed by the assembly and handed over to the beneficiary communities with others yet to be completed.
He mentioned that, “The over 30 projects that the Wassa east district assembly has executed includes a spacious pavilion market for Daboase which has already been completed and handed over with fully operational, a police station has been constructed at Anyinabirem to help clamp on criminal activities, a ( 6 ) unit classroom block constructed by the assembly and handed over to the Dominara community, a construction of Out Patient Department ( OPD ) with nurses quarters for Atobiase is ongoing, a ( 6 ) unit classroom block constructed for Atobiase by GNPC which has been handed over and are in use , construction of a ( 3 ) units JHS classroom block for the Amponsaso community, a ( 3 ) units JHS classroom block for Akutuase with another ( 3 ) units classroom block for the KG all handed over by the Wassa east district assembly, a skills training center which constructed to team up with OIC to involve TVET education.”
Other projects, he said, included the Edwinase KG classroom block, Daboase Senior High School has also benefited (3) units classroom block from GNPC and the district assembly constructing Dormitory block and handed over to the school which are in use.
The DCE added that “The Aboaboso CHPS compound and Asaaman with portal drinking water has already been handed over by the assembly and in use. A (3) unit classroom block which has been handed over to the Kakabo community and is in use. A (3) units classroom block for the people of Nsuta has been ongoing which is being constructed by the Coastal Development Authority (CODA).
Aside all these developmental projects, a (3) classroom block has been handed over to the Odumase community. A (12) seater WC toilet facility with another at Jwabin has also been handed over. The Akyempim nurses’ quarters has been completed, Brofoyedur CHPS compound and quarters has been handed over by the district assembly are in use.”
The DCE also said the Senchem market sheds have been completed and handed over and in use, whilst the Waasa east district assembly has constructed the Ateiku market complex the assembly has constructed a total of (24) unit completed and the Coastal Development Authority constructing 40 for old Subri.
“A CHPS compound with nurses’ quarters for Sekyere has been fully completed and are in use. The Osinso, Hemanso are benefiting an ongoing CHPS compound being constructed by the GNPC.
Beenu Yie CHPS compound with nurses’ quarters. Sekyere Heman is also benefiting a construction through the district assembly.
A (3) units classroom block completed and a police station constructed by the assembly for Sekyere Heman.
According to the Wassa east DCE, the Assembly has begun a (2) storey news assembly block at Daboase which will be completed soon,” he said.
