…Amewu Touts NPP Achievements, As He Cuts Sod For Astro Turf Stadium In Hohoe
The Minister for Energy, John Peter Amewu, has reiterated the determination of the Nana Akufo-Addo-led government to bring development and total transformation to the people of the Volta Region especially the people of Hohoe.
According to him, the NPP administration has nothing more in mind but to work and bring development to the country.
He said the past NDC government has shown nothing with regards to the development of the Volta Region, but the Akufo-Addo led government has shown over the past two years that it is capable of turning things around for the good people of the Volta Region.
He said: “We are for work. We are ready to work to ensure that our children will have a better future.”
The Minister was speaking during a sod-cutting ceremkny in Hohoe for the construction of an Astro Turf pitch to boost sports development in the area.
John Peter Amewu averred that the project had started in 2006, but was not completed because of change in government.
He said the government under President Akufo-Addo is determined that projects of this nature are completed to the benefit of all and the citizens of HoHoe.
He noted that football is the passion of the people of Hohoe , and as a football loving community, roduced great teams in the past.
He advised all residents to support government in the drive to build their football capacity and capabilities.
“The President is keen in ensuring this, hence he has advised on how we can go about things. That is why today we are commencing the project and will be completed in time,” he said.
He thanked Nana Addo for making it possible, adding that “there are several towns accross this country, there are several Ministers accross this country but when I whispered to him, he directed that things should be done in Hohoe to show his love.”
Nana Addo, he said has shown his love for HoHoe and that the project is a manifestation of his commitment to the growth and development of the area.
He said “the elephant is working” and for that matter the people must follow the elephant for development, promising an unprecedented development in Hohoe and urged them to support the NPP.
On his part, the MCE who was enthused about the whole project said he was happy that the Government is pursuing the stadium project.
He said the AAssembly cannot construct the stadium but the Minister of energy, John Peter Amewu has been able to lobby to ensure that the project commences.
He thanked the President, Nana Akufo-Addo and the Minister for Energy who is a Son of the soil for their immense contribution towards the development of HoHoe.
