The 2020 parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in the Afram Plains South Constituency of the Eastern Region, William Hor, has commissioned six mechanized boreholes for some six Zongo communities in the area.
William Hor, in 2016, during the campaign period promised the various Muslim communities that he would build 3 mosques and also dig 6 mechanized boreholes for his constituents when he won the parliamentary seat
In fulfilling his promise, even though he did not win, he collaborated with Direct Aid International to construct the boreholes and the mosques which are mostly completed for the Zongo Communities.
The former Chief Executive Officer of Ghana First Loans at the handing over ceremony thanked the donors, for their quick response to his application by approving 6 boreholes and 3 mosques when he called upon them.
He advised the beneficiary communities namely: Dedeso, Forifori, Dunkron, Maamekrobo, Agata, and Ekye – Amanfrom to take good care of the facilities.
He further advised them to form committees to manage the water projects by way of selling the water at a minimum price and use it for the maintenance of the boreholes.
The Representative of Direct Aid International and Chief Imam of Maame – Krobo in his remarks thanked Mr. Willie Hor for his hard work and dedication to ensure that the residents have been relieved from the perennial water shortage problem.
The Chiefs prayed for Allah’s blessings upon him and also grant him what he is aspiring for.
