The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ada Constituency in the Greater Accra Region has said it is ready to reject any attempts to nominate, elect and appoint Sarah DugbakiePobeeas the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Ada East District Assembly.
In a Petition to the President; signed by the Constituency Executives, Electoral Area Coordinators, Council of Elders and Patrons, they averred that they do not support her candidacy as DCE.
They stated that her four years in that office has seen marginalization of the party at the Constituency level from the mainstream government of the district.
This, they said favored the opposition NDC greatly.
They accused her of blatantly disrespecting the party structure by constantly expressing non-confidence in the constituency executives.
According to them, Sarah Dugbakie Pobee’s relationship with the executives during her tenure as DCE was sour.
“Her non-compliance with the rules and regulations for the 2020 elections, having doubled as the Parliamentary Candidate/District Chief Executive (DCE); Non usage and the abandonment of the inaugurated Constituency Campaign Team to run a parallel campaign team, never cooperated to ensure the successful implementation of the Constituency drawn election/campaign programme.”
They also indicated that her bad management and distribution of the Constituency election logistics and funds to the detriment of the Constituency Party and her inability to convince and mobilize the majority of the work force of the District Assembly as well as her failure to appeal to the electorates to support and vote for her candidacy and the party as evidence by her abysmal performance during the 2020 elections, as reasons for their position.
“Her divisive, gormandizing, insatiable desire for self-wealth making to the disadvantage of the growth of the Constituency Party as well as her unreliable nature and her deep involvement in the Ada-Foah Chieftaincy brouhaha that has affected the party’s performance immensely,” they stated.
The leadership has also revealed that her general sense of arrogance and total disrespect to party faithful cannot be countenanced anymore hence; they will ensure she is not re-appointed.
