…Akufo-Addo Reveals As He C’ssions Bodukwan Multi Fruit Processing Factory
President Akufo-Addo says his government’s flagship programme, One District, One Factory (1D1F), has created about one hundred and forty thousand (140,000) jobs out of the seventy six (76) operational factories, aside the one hundred and seven (107) under construction.
The President disclosed this when he addressed the commissioning ceremony of the Bodukwan Multi Fruit processing factory today the 1st of December 2020, under the 1D1F initiative at Sabin in the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency in the Ashanti Region as part of day two activities of his three day campaign tour of the Ashanti Region.
President Akufo-Addo in his address indicatesd that he has, through his multiple visits to all the regions of the country, personally been to all the operational 1D1F factories and can attest to their existence.
“Seventy-six (76) are currently operational and one hundred and seven (107) are under construction, expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2021. In all, one hundred and forty thousand (140,000) jobs are being created by the 1D1F programme” President Akufo-Addo said.
“We are Transforming our nation, we are not selling factories, we are building factories in Ghana” President Akufo-Addo added.

President Akufo-Addo in his remarks extended his deep appreciation to the Asantehene, Osei-Tutu II, who graced the occasion with his presence and is directly associated with the establishment of the Bodukwan Multi Fruit Processing Factory, Green Houses and Royal Jute Factory, for reposing his confidence in his government’s 1D1F initiative and for setting up a factory under same.

The food processing plant has installed capacity of 72 metric tons per day and will process seven (7) varieties of fruits and vegetables, such as mango, pineapple, water melon and tomatoes, into concentrates for exports and for the domestic markets.
Cooperation between the Asantehene, Ghana Exim Bank Limited and the Ministry of Trade and Industry, made it possible to establish the forty five million cedis (GHc 45,000,000.00) investment project. The company will provide direct employment for over one hundred (100) people and generate over one thousand (1,000) indirect opportunities for the youth and other job seekers.
