It has now been over eighteen (18) months since the demolition of the Lomotey Family property at Labone Estates, Cantonments, Accra.
At the time of the demolition, members of the family residing at the property were displaced. Statements confirming their displacement were provided to the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) during formal engagement with the Bureau.
An official rejoinder issued on September 6, 2024, by the Vice President’s Communications Bureau categorically denied any authorization or involvement by that Office and called for collaboration with law-enforcement authorities to apprehend those responsible.
Subsequent investigative engagements referenced representations made on behalf of Dream Citrix Limited, whose publicly identified officers include Ken Agyeman Badu, Cynthia Agyeman Badu, and Nii-Lante Quarcoopome.
Despite the ongoing investigative processes, Dream Citrix Limited has initiated legal proceedings seeking to restrain the Lomotey Family from accessing or undertaking activity on the property.
The family further notes that public records and materials reflect an association between Cynthia Agyeman Badu and members of the family of former Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia. While no official authorization from that Office has been established—in fact, it has been expressly denied—the existence of such associations underscores the importance of transparency and the timely publication of investigative findings to preserve public confidence.
The matter has also been captured within the scope of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee established in late 2024 by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana to examine issues of public accountability.
After eighteen months, displacement of residents, ongoing litigation, and the absence of publicly communicated investigative conclusions, the Lomotey Family respectfully calls for:
- Publication of ORAL’s findings in relation to this matter and any referral made;
• Conclusion and formal communication of the National Investigations Bureau’s investigative outcome;
• Appropriate referral of findings to the Judiciary where applicable; and
• Notification of the Office of the President in keeping with principles of transparency and institutional accountability.
In the absence of formal communication within twenty-one (21) days, the family will consider additional lawful steps to ensure procedural resolution.
This matter concerns property rights, procedural fairness, and confidence in public institutions. The Lomotey Family remains committed to lawful processes and respectful institutional engagement.
