Paramount Chief of Kade Traditional Area in the Eastern Region, Osaaberima Asare Twe ll, is boiling with anger at the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Kwabebirim Municipal Assembly, Mr. Seth Antwi Boasiako for showing what the chief described as gross disrespect to his chieftaincy status, which hitherto has been retarding development in the area.
According to the chief, since the appointment of the MCE by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, he has arrogantly fail to recognize him as the customarily installed chief of Kade.
He stated that the MCE has rather developed continuous habit to give recognition to the old chief of Kade, Osaaberima Agyare Tenadu ll who has been destooled by the elders and kingmakers in the area.
He maintained that “Infact the MCE has refused to show some respect to me as the chief of Kade, adding that the MCE does not call him to attend meetings of national interest in the area, but he always called the old chief of Kade, Osaaberima Agyare Tenadu II to attend several meetings, the development the chief noted was completely against the traditions and customs in the area”.
Speaking in an interview with media a couple of days ago to voice out gross disrespect meted to him by the MCE, the chief accused the MCE of meddling in the chieftaincy affairs in the area and called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to immediately call him to order.
He mentioned that on June 3 June 2019, his chieftaincy status was generally accepted by the leadership of the Okyeman Traditional Council, making the Council to give him the traditional and customarily clearance to become the legitimate and recognize chief of Kade.
He pointed out that he is the own traditionally and customarily installed chief who has been given traditional power by the Council under the leadership of Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Payan to sign documents in the connection of the land transaction within the Kade enclaves.
According to him, no one can bypass him to claim as the chief of Kade to deal in any land transaction in the area, stressing that whoever deal with land transactions with any individual claiming to be the chief in Kade does it in his or her risk.
He explained that all the lands within Kade are lands under the Okyeman Traditional Council, saying that the Council has given him the traditional power to take absolute control over all the lands in Kade, adding that it was that traditional power given to him by the Council for which the MCE has been fighting against him.
He continued that he has a lot of strategic investors who are ready to invest in the social and infrastructure development life intervention projects and programmes in the area but the MCE is not cooperating with the elders of the area.
He cited the instance of the current circumstance where the MCE has left him out and invited the embattled chief of Kade, Osaaberima Agyare Tenadu ll to grace the occasion where the National Petroleum Authority went to Kade to educate the people on how to use the gas cylinders.
