Daasebre Gyenin Akenteng II, Chief of Achiase Traditional area in the Eastern Region has appealed to the President to consider the good works are done by Richmond Amponsah, the District Chief Executive of the area, and retain him in his government for the second term of office.
According to the chief, their DEC did marvelously well in his first term of office and for that matter, clamoring for his stay in the President’s second term in office as their DCE.
The chief addressing a presser Indicated that it will not be prudent to change their DCE and is of the view that, should he be sack as the DCE it will be an ungrateful act on the part of the government.
He categorically stated that “I will not accept it if he is changed because he has done nothing wrong since he assumed office. His sack will be a tug of war and I’m waiting for the person who will clamor for his change. We need to give him another four years and if he is not able to perform then we change him but not now”.
The Achiase chief added that the DCE did not get things on the silver platter in his first term of office since he was using the common fund to settle the outstanding debt in the area.
Meanwhile, Richmond Amponsah, the District Chief Executive as gathered has completed most of the abandoned projects under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) since he came into the office.
Under his watch as the area DCE, he has been able to connect electricity to about 95% (35) communities in the Achiase, and also make the provision of mechanized and manual boreholes for the people.
Apart from that, he has lobbied for several CHIP compounds which have been built to help the people to get access to quality healthcare.
The Assembly has also been able to provide seedlings to the majority of the farmers in the area.
He has also cut the sod for the construction of the hospital which is a clear indication of the good work he has done in the past four years.
His outfit has also helped the party to win the Parliamentary seat,
Isaac Amoah, Achiase Constituency Chairman expressed when contacted also said he was satisfied with the performance of the DCE in the past four years, hence backing him for a second term in office.
According to him, he never undermined the work of the New Patriotic Party and has said, they will support him if the government maintains him as the DCE.
He affirmed that they will petition the government should they decline to maintain him as their DCE.
