The Ada Youth Forum for Development has raised concerns over what it described as a “targeted campaign” against Ghanaian businessman Daniel McKorley, popularly known as McDan, urging the government to protect local investors and respect lawful business agreements.
Speaking at a press conference held on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the McDan Sports Complex in Sege-Ada, the forum accused authorities of undermining McDan’s business operations, including his aviation and salt mining ventures, through intimidation and political pressure.
The youth group highlighted a series of incidents, including the violent invasion of Electrochem Ghana Limited’s salt mining site at the Ada Songor Lagoon on January 9, 2026, and the demolition of McDan warehouses near Kotoka International Airport.
They claimed these actions disrupted businesses, destroyed property, and left the entrepreneur under undue pressure, with no meaningful accountability or investigations undertaken.
“The continuous attacks on Daniel McKorley have crossed every line of fairness, decency, and national interest,” the forum said in a statement. “Piece by piece, step by step, lawful agreements are being undermined. If this culture continues, no serious investor will feel safe investing in Ghana.”
The forum called on the President of the Republic to intervene, demanding the immediate reopening of Terminal 1 at Kotoka International Airport for McDan Aviation’s Fixed Base Operator (FBO) operations, full compensation for damages caused, and protection for all other businesses owned by McDan.
The group warned that the treatment of McDan, a local investor who has created jobs and contributed significantly to the economic development of Ada, could discourage Ghanaian entrepreneurs from investing in the country if left unaddressed.
“The people of Ada are watching carefully,” the forum said. “We are peaceful and law-abiding citizens, but we will not sit idle while projects that sustain our communities are undermined through intimidation and political pressure.”
The press conference underscores growing concerns over investor confidence in Ghana and the protection of local entrepreneurs against perceived political interference.
