Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Asawasi Constituency of the Ashanti Region, have declared their unflinching support for Hon Alhaji Alidu Seidu, who is also the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Asokore Mampong, to win the upcoming parliamentary primaries in the area.
The New Crusading GUIDE’s visit to the constituency revealed that Alhaji Alidu Seidu, after assuming office in 2017 as the MCE for Asokore Mampong undertook a lot of developmental projects which has been duly executed.
On education, this paper learnt Alhaji Alidu Seidu has constructed a 6-unit classroom block for Nasru Deen Islamic School at Akurem, a 6-unit classroom block for the Asokore Mampong R / C primary school, a 6 unit classroom block at Adukrom primary school, renovated a 3-unit classroom block for the Nasru Deen Islamic school, also in Akruem, and another renovation of a 3 unit classroom block for the Asokore Mampong R/C primary.
The Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly under the abled-leadership of Alhaji Alidu Seidu, has renovated classroom block for the Abubakar Siddik Islamic primary school at Sawaba, constructed the Administration block for Kumasi Academy; popularly called Kumaca, constructed Technical and vocational Training Centre at Asokore Mampong, to be able to assist the teeming youth within the municipality to acquire employable skills for a better future.
The assembly has also handed over thousands of dual desks to the municipal education directorate which has been distributed to basic schools to enhance effective teaching and learning.
The Assembly under his watch has also constructed the Pakoso Bridge which was in deplorable state some years back making it difficult for easy access of vehicles, constructed a double cell culvert at Sepe Anfoagya, and constructed retaining wall at Sawaba new site drain for the prevention of flooding, and constructed foot-bridge at the Aboabo Dagomba line.
Alhaji Alidu Seidu has been able to construct a magistrate court for the municipality, redeveloped the Ghana Station (Joeboy) bus terminal inside, constructed a mosque at the municipal assembly, constructed 3 mechanized boreholes at Pakoso, Boobai, and Akwatialine, to support the good people in the area to have access to good drinking water.
According to the NPP delegates within the Asawasi constituency, they believe the MCE has been able to perform to expectations in less than 3 years in office.
They also believe Alhaji Alidu Seidu is the best candidate to match whoever the opposition NDC is presenting as their parliamentary candidate for 2020 general elections.
The MCE Alhaji Alidu Seidu, in a telephone interview revealed the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly has already began the redevelopment of the Aboabo market, the Aboabo community Senior High School, Adukrom Senior High School, redevelopment of Sepe Timpom market, and mounting of street lights within the entire municipality to address security issues.
