President Akufo-Addo has assured President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, and the Vice-President -elect, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang of the commitment of his administration to ensuring seamless transition from today, Wednesday, 11 December 2024 till 7 January 2025 when they assume office.
The president made this pledge when he received the President-elect John Dramani Mahama and the Vice- president elect Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, 11 December 2024.
The two leaders, the president-elect and vice-president-elect, were received at the ceremonial entrance of the Jubilee House by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei Opare at about 11am.
After taking some photos at the foyer of the Jubilee House, President Akufo-Addo and John Dramani Mahama held a 20-minute private meeting and subsequently addressed the Jubilee House press corps.
In his remarks, President Akufo-Addo noted that he invited Mahama for two reasons, first was to congratulate the incoming president and, second to assume him of his full commitment to ensuring that Mr Mahama takes office as seamlessly as possible.
President-elect John Dramani Mahama, on his part, expressed his appreciation to President Akufo-Addo for congratulating him and extending a hand of fellowship to him. He indicated that he welcomes the President’s commitment to a smooth transition, and he will also ensure that his team cooperates with the Akufo-Addo administration to ensure a smooth transition.
At 4pm on Wednesday, 11 December 2024, President Akufo-Addo and President-elect John Mahama will inaugurate the two transition teams at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC).
