A joint task force comprising police officers and National Security operatives has conducted a raid at the residence of Bernard Antwi Boasiako, widely known as Chairman Wontumi, who serves as the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Armed with a search warrant the team was authorized to carry out a thorough inspection of the premises. However, the precise motive for the search has not yet been disclosed.
At the time of the operation, Chairman Wontumi’s whereabouts were unknown. The situation has drawn the attention of several senior NPP officials in the region, many of whom have reportedly arrived at the scene as the situation unfolds.
