The Chief of Amamoley, a suburb in the Ga Central Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, Nii Commey II, has appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), George Akufo Dampare, to come to his aid, in his bid to rid the area off the activities of notorious landguards.
He alleged that the notorious landguard have been employed from Ablekuma by some faceless individuals to carry out criminal attacks on people and their properties.
He disclosed that they have taken several steps in dealing with the operations of the notorious landguards for years but that has not yielded the needed results.
“I have the men as a chief to face these landguards but we respect the law and does want to put the law into our own hands” Nii Commey stated.
The chief expressed worry the rate at which landguards have been attacking innocent people and their properties in the area for the past years.
Nii Commey made this known when he interacted with the media over a recent attack on some land owners by some armed landguards in the area.
The chief is therefore imploring the IGP to as a matter of urgency deploy police officers to the area to help addressed the menace.
“Several property owners have left their projects due to the illegal operations of the landguards,” he stated.
The operations of the landguards, the Amamoley Chief said has negatively impacted the development of the area.
