The Chiefs and People of Amanase in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region are set to celebrate their annual celebrated Bomukye Sustainable Cocoa festival.
This year’s festival begins from 10th to 18th February 2024 and is expected to attract thousands of participants and tourists across the length and breadth of the country as well as all natives of the town who are currently seeking greener pastures in other countries.
The festival aims at fostering unity among the good people of the area while creating opportunity for fund raising to support developmental projects.
This year’s celebration, which will be under the theme, “Sustainable production system; aligning with the EUDR and one health,” is officially sponsored Yayra Glover Cocoa Limited.
Funds would be raised funds to facilitate the construction of a police station to help address crime in the town.
Several activities such as a clean-up exercise, football gala, health screening, and quiz competition, among other essential activities are scheduled to be held to climax the long-awaited event.
Speaking with the media ahead of the event, Chief of Amanase, Osabarima Asamoah Asare Ampofo I, was optimistic that this year celebration would be exceptional as compared with the maiden edition.
He entreated all natives of Amanase to endeavour to attend to make it a memorable one in the history of the town.
“I am optimistic that the celebration of the festival would go long way to promote unity among the good people of Amanase, ” the Chief noted.
The Traditional Leader seized the opportunity and called on the teeming youth of the town to desist from acts that would negatively impact lives.
The youth, Osabarima Ampofo I noted, are the future leaders of the country and therefore should be prepared for the tasks ahead of them
