-Robert Sarfo Returns To Court After Miserable Defeat
It has often been said that “once bitten twice shy”. To wit “a person who has failed or been hurt when trying to do something is careful or fearful about doing it again”.
However it looks like Robert Sarfo-Mensah is not perturb by this idiomatic expression. About two weeks ago, we informed the public of a case where the Accra High Court had struck out a case Robert Sarfo-Mensah brought against Anas.
After the premiering of the Number 12 exposé by Anas Aremeyaw Anas, Robert Sarfo-Mensah, then Director-General of National Sports Authority captured in the documentary dragged Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tiger Eye PI before the High Court, Accra alleging that Anas had defamed and violated his human rights.
The said writ was filed on 10th October, 2018. The lawyer for Anas, Kissi Agyebeng however contended the appropriateness of the suit filed by Robert Sarfo-Mensah.
Lawyer for Anas filed an application and prayed the Court to strike out the case against the defendants, i.e. Anas and his Tiger Eye PI. Expectant of Robert Safo-Mensah and his lawyer, they resisted the application filed by lawyer Kissi Agyebeng.
The Court heard the legal arguments and submissions of both lawyers and adjourned the matter to 3rd May, 2019 for ruling.
The judge, Gifty Agyei Addo in giving her ruling upheld the legal arguments advanced by lawyer Kissi Agyebeng and accordingly struck out the case against Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tiger Eye PI.
The judge then ordered Robert Sarfo-Mensah to pay GHC 1, 000. 00 (One thousand Ghana Cedis) to compensate Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
Our checks at the High Court, Accra showed that the embattled Robert Sarfo-Mensah has filed fresh action again, basically asking for the same reliefs in the previous writ which was struck out. More soon … More soon …
