The Okuapemman East Orange Clinic that was Commissioned in July this year by the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Akuapem North Constituency, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, is in a deplorable state just two months after she handed it over to the community at a well-organised and a well-attended ceremony.
The Okuapemman East Orange Clinic, which was established in 1993, received a major facelift and rehabilitation in 2023. On July 27, 2023, the MP and the District Chief of Akuapem North who led the renovation of the clinic proudly organised a Commissioning ceremony after the work was done.
At the Commissioning ceremony of the clinic, the MP had engaged in self-praise for executing the project. She touted the project as a major achievement of hers, stressing how even with limited resources, she had done her very best.
“With what I was given, I have done more than Napoleon could ever do,” the MP had boasted at the commissioning
But two months down the line, the project appears to have been shoddily executed as the roof leaks seriously whenever it rains. The structural integrity of the project and its furnishing has been called to question given the rapid deterioration.
Some residents of the area and patrons of the facility are unhappy with present state of the clinic. Some persons have accused the MP for failing to do a good job.
