The Majority Chief Whip, also the Member of Parliament for NsawamAdoagyiri constituency in the Eastern Region, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has donated 10 pieces of Pulse Oximeters gadgets to the Nsawam Government Hospital.
The machine which cost an amount of $20,000 has certain parameters of functions that must be monitored to ensure that the patient does well.
It is responsible for checking heartbeat, breathing rate, temperature, blood pressure, and the level of oxygen within the blood.
The Majority Chief Whip, providing the hospital with the top-of-the-range bedside monitor gadget indicated that it would allow the hospital to mount key critical vital signs functions of the body.
Rolling out the advantages of the machine, he noted the gadget will help to measure the oxygen saturation which is critical especially in the time of covid-19 that they can monitor people’s oxygen levels.
He said they will able to look at the pulse rate which will allow the hospital to monitor the measurement of the profusion index which allows them to measure how well the blood is reaching.
Again, he disclosed that it will allow doctors to monitor the fluid level of the patient, and also will provide doctors with continuous data of 96hrs of how the patient is performing.
The Nsawam /Adoagyiri legislator expressed his commitment and dedication to give his all to aid health delivery in the Nsawam Adoagyiri constituency and beyond.
He stated that because of the facilities in the hospital, all the towns around Nsawam bring their patients there which has made work difficult for the hospital employees.
“During the Covid-19 period I came here to visit them and I saw how they are suffering. So this is to help them and this is first of its kind in the Eastern region.”
Hon. Annor Dompreh applauds the hospital for taking good care of some numerous donations he has made to them.
He went on to appeal to individual stakeholders to turn their support to the Nsawam government hospital.
Dr. KwabenaAwuku, the Medical Superintendent of the Hospital receiving the gadgets at the forecourt of the Hospital flanked with his senior officers thanked the Majority Chief Whip for his timely intervention to aid their work having narrated the difficulties they have been through owing to the repercussions of Covid.
He narrated among other important donations made by the MP including GH¢50,000 down payment to facilitate the construction of the maternity block, the ongoing negotiations with the Chinese embassy to construct the maternity ward, the hospital’s main entrance project among others.
