The Chief of Nyankomam and the Kyidomhene of the Aowin Traditional Area, Nana Adu Kwame III, has condemned the uncustomary means by which Louis Yamoah (aka Nana Kwame Nkansah) employed to destool their Paramount Chief, Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III.
Addressing a Press Conference, Nana Adu Kwame III stated that there are five Kingmakers on the Annor Asemah Oyoko Paramount Stool in Aowin.
He said, the Omanhemaa, the grandmother of the Omanhene, Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III (or the Queenmother) of the Aowin Traditional Area informed the five Kingmakers in 2013 about the person she had nominated, and who had been vetted by the royal family, as the next Omanhene of the Aowin Traditional Area.
“As our customs and traditions go, this is a highly secret affair which is not written in any Kingmaker’s report as Mr Louis Yamoah has been lying about,” he said.
According to him, Mr Louis Yamoah was not even an Odikro in 2013 when this happened and that he was not one of them and the queenmother does not know him.
“So, it is strange that he was on UW claiming that the current Omanhene’s grandmother never nominated him! This is palpable falsehood!”
Commenting on the said Kingmakers’ Report, Nana Adu Kwame III averred that the five Kingmakers on the Aowin Paramount Stool including the Gyasehene, the Baamuhene, the Tufuhene, Adumhene and himself, the Kyidomhene, stressing that the so-called fictitious report only has a forged signature of the late Gyasehene, Nana Ekomah Annor.
He said: “We have his real signature for the sake of evidence. Secondly, there is no other signature of any other Kingmaker. Thirdly, the report, believed to have been written in 2018, are two and have two different dates (10th January 2018 and 15th January 2018). As one can imagine, the facts in the reports are different: the first purports to name Nana Nyameah Payin as the candidate for the Yakasi Adiakyire Stool and Bullu Agyei for the Aowin Paramount Stool while the second omits Nana Nyameah Payin from it. This falsehood is contained in the so-called report!”
He stressed that the invented allegations levelled against Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin lll, the Omanhene of Aowin Traditional Area, are untrue, stressing that as far back in 2013, Nana Asuamah Payin II, the grandmother of the Omanhene, Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III, the Queenmother of the Aowin Traditional Area, nominated Thomas Antwi-
Agyei (now the Omanhene of the Aowin Paramountcy).
He said as customs and traditions demand, the current Omanhene then paid the customary drinks that they demanded, that time, their Kingmakers, head and representative in the person of Nana Ndoli Payin II, the then Chief of Kramokrom and also the Baamuhene of the Traditional Area accepted the customary drinks to signify their acceptance of the Queenmother’s nominee, having vetted and screened him to be worthy.
He also enumerated that in May 2074, they invited Beyeeman to return Louis Yamoah or Nana Kwame Nkansah II, the Odikro of Jomoro, is not a Kingmaker of the Paramount Stool of Aowin nor is he a member of the Oyoko Royal Family of Enchi and he is not an indigene of Aowin, but from Sefwi-Amoaya.
“The late Awulae Boafo Ntaah II, the then Omanhene of Aowin traditional Area and also the uncle of Nana Tano Kwaw Benbuin lll, carved a stool for his mother at Jomoro to serve under the Kyidom Stool in L97O’s. Moreover, he is not the spokesperson of the Aowin Traditional Council but has deceptively christened himself thus, and arrogating the fictitious title of the Chairman of the Judicial Committee, a position which does not exist in the Chieftaincy Act. Louis Yamoah or Nana Kwame Nkansah II is an Odikro under my stool (the Kyidom Stool of Nyankomam).”
Nana Adu Kwame III revealed that Louis Yamoah has fraudulently gazetted or registered himself with the connivance of the previous registrar of the Aowin Traditional Council as a Divisional Chief (please attached documents).
He mentioned that after the installation of Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III, Mannah Kofi Nzole who claimed to be the Abusuapanin sued Beyeeman at the Judicial Committee of the Regional House of Chiefs, Sekondi and lost the case.
“He later filed an appeal at the National House of Chiefs, Kumasi. The case is still pending for determination, which we have been waiting for since September 2020. I want to state that the Judicial Committee of the Regional House of Chiefs has the same powers as the High Courts of Ghana.”
“Since the Judicial Committee of Western Regional House of Chiefs, Sekondi, has made ruling in favour of Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III, and an appeal having been lodged with the National House of
Chiefs, all the statements and reports written on the matter is tantamount to contempt of court and we will take the appropriate steps to ensure this happens in the interest of justice,” he said.
He stressed that that all the various claims made by Louis Yamoah or Nana Kwame Nkansah II, the Odikro of Jomoro, against Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III, are full of lies, pointing out that Louis Yamoah
knows that with all the evil deeds he has done against their Omanhene, the right steps will be taken for him to be demoted down to an Odikro when their Omanhene is gazetted.
