Asadu Royal Seed and Waste Management Ltd. in conjunction with Ghana United Nations Association (GUNA) and Africa Afforestation Association (AAA) has donated hospital beds and its accessories to the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital in the Ashanti Region.
The donation, which was held at the premises of the hospital received commendations from the management and staff. In all, 10 ultra-modern beds imported from Germany at a cost of Gh¢ 45,000.00 were donated to the hospital.
In a short but colourful ceremony, Dr. Edward Asadu, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Asadu Waste in a remark noted that the wonderful gesture was necessitated by the biblical directive that “We who are strong ought to bear with the failing of the weak and not please ourselves- Romans 15:1.”
He stated that the delivery of quality healthcare is non-negotiable, but that inadequate medical assistance in this part of the country has hampered expected results. The donation was therefore to assist and enhance the logistical situation of the hospital, especially to reduce the no-bed syndrome in order to ensure that patients who sought medical attention at the hospital were offered services of the highest quality.
The General Manager of Agogo Hospital, Alex Nyamesa Kesse, who received the beds on behalf of the hospital expressed gratitude to both Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang and Dr. Edward Asadu, and promised to put the items to good use in ensuring quality clinical services to their patients.
He said the donation had come at an opportune time when the hospital is grappling with problems of inadequate medical supplies and equipment, partially owing to the delay in the payment of National Health Insurance claims.
He further appealed to individuals and corporate bodies, especially, natives of Asante Akyem North, both home and abroad to emulate the shining example of Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang and Dr. Edward Asadu in order to make Agogo hospital a centre of excellence in health care delivery.
Also present at the Ceremony were: Hon. Alhaji Sulemana Abdul Hamid, who represented Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, Mr. Emmanuel Boakye Appiah – Head of Pharmacy, Mr. George Adusei Boahen – Nursing Administrator, and Mr. George Osae – Accounts Manager of Agogo Hospital. The rest are: Rev. Mavis Yeboah – Hospital’s Chaplain, Mr. Cosmas Beyuo – Head of Administration and Mr. Felix Anane – Head, Human Resource Department.
